Standard Sizes for Refrigerators

Out of all kitchen appliances, refrigerators are the least standard in terms of depth, however, height is usually around 1780 mm and width is usually around 915 mm. Depth can vary considerably depending on whether the refrigerator is considered a counter-depth refrigerator or not. Counter-depth simply means shallower than average, but is still deeper than real counter top depth. While counter-depth refrigerators may be more aesthetically pleasing in a kitchen, due to slimmer profile they do sacrifice cubic-foot capacity and may not be suitable for large families.

When measuring and planning for a refrigerator, make sure to give 1 inch behind the refrigerator for air circulation and ensure to account for refrigerator doors and handles in the overall calculation.
